Golf Las Américas
Overview
Golf Las Américas is a championship course situated in the heart of Playa de Las Americas. Open in 1998 and designed by the famous English golfer John Jacobs, this course is a parkland type course where the management and green keeping staff are very proud of the way this course is maintained. With a wide variety of fauna and bird life throughout the course, it is a course which will suit both the high and low handicappers alike.
Layout
The course is a Par 72 measuring 6.039 meters (6.604 yards) with 2 very distinct 9 hole combinations. Both the 1st and the 10th tee are overlooked by the impressive clubhouse. Although most consider the front nine to be the harder, there are a few holes on the back nine where positioning plays an important part of the game.
Our favourite holes
The 1st hole is a par 5 with a slight dog leg to the green. With water coming in to play for your 2nd or 3rd shot positioning is everything on this hole if you want to make par. But it’s a risk and reward hole where to get your birdie you need to play over the lake protecting the green. Our other favourite is the 190 meter Par 3, 5th hole which is also a great risk and reward hole.
